but remember that this treasure chest is random.
To unlock treasure chest you must have the key to open it.
How to get the key to unlock and open treasure chest ?
The keys is available to purchase with 9 reward points.
there’s no free way to get this key for now.. maybe we’ll wait for some glitch 
Treasure chest is also giftable, you can find it on your loot inventory page. But the item inside treasure chest is not giftable.

What this mean we need 9 Reward Point to open each Treasure Chest, and when i have 20 Treasure Chest that mean i must have 180 to open it all ?

Wie kann ich die Kiste öffnen? Ich bin lvl 9 und habe die Kiste von einem Freund geschenkt bekommen. Nun habe ich mir einen Schlüssel gekauft doch ich weis nicht wie ich die Kiste öffne.

i have a gold key in my inventory and also a the new gold chest its says – Unlock (uses one key) and i click on that to unlock the chest and it just brings me to the mafia wars store
doesnt make sense- i have a gold key and a gold box but i cant unlock it

evom, same is happening to me, my gf opened one but she may have used RP to open it, which didnt matter because she recieved ten any way… Why wont the free keys work Zynga?

evom – I am having the same issue. When it brings me to the Marketplace, it tells me I don’t have enough Reward Points to buy that item. I have 4 gold chests and 2 gold keys… should be able to open 2 chests without buying points!
I emailed tech support, so hopefully they will fix it.

I have the same problem as evom. I received a gold key in a mystery crate but can’t use it to open the gold box.

I gained 2 gold treasure chests but couldn’t open them since i didn’t have enough keys. okays,
i went to market-place,bought 2 keys and now i have 2 chests,2 keys. how to open this stupid chest? there’s none option to open it! when i had no keys it said: open now for 9 rw points. i bought the dam keys and nothing happened, and yeah that little tab wich said open now disapeared.
so …do I have to wait for more 2 new chests to appear from jobs so it can pop-up and i can open?

hmm.. let’s see. I didn’t know back then that the keys weren’t free. But when I opened my Loots Page, It said Unlock (uses one key) so I clicked it and viola!! I actually opened two (or three, I think) treasure chests already without spending any cent!! Unfortunately, I didn’t how It happened since I thought I could open a chest each day on the Loots Page.
As of now, It says that I need to buy a key for 9 Reward Poitns to open the Chests.

Guys, try going to the inventory page, then click ‘view items’.
Select ‘I own’ then ‘Treasure Chest’ … here we go, you can see all chest and key you have. Click on the chest you would like to open and then click ‘Unlock (use 1 key)’.
Just got:a Hopi Rattle Snake 58/32 and a rock python 58/31.
