Guide to Harvesting Oysters
I noticed a lot of neighbours have oysters but haven’t harvested them. Here’s how:
1. Drop the oyster into the oysterbed
2. A bigger oysterbed should be displayed on your screen
3. Click each individual oyster that’s displayed and the oyster shell should open up and give you a bonus
the usual bonuses for white oysters are 50 coins and 50 xp. That’s all I got so far.

update :
- it looks like the oysters closeup after 24 hrs after they’ve been opened
- so far it looks like you can only have 1 bed per player (regardless of level or number of oysters).
- it seems that if you share the “mystery gift – mystery oyster” and a neighbour claims it, they can share that gift with you so you will also get that prize in your gift box.
- so far, mystery gifts have been: white oysters, black oysters, buildable pieces to castle.
Problems :
My oyster bed is full 20/20, I am harvesting them but keep getting more oysters even though I posted on my wall that I do not need anymore oysters. Now I have oysters in my gift box sitting there.
So what’s the deal with the locked oyster bed in the store? How to unlock oyster bed ?

You can only have one oyster bed at a time. To unlock it you have to sell the one you do have & then you can use all the oysters in your gift box!

You can’t unlock new oyster beds, if you already have one. Oh, and also, you can now get decorations from the mystery oyster.

You can place them in the oyster bed, and it will replace another oyster. And it will be sold for 50 coins.

I had a yellow oyster,wich gives more coins and xp’s, then got a black one that yield half of it, then sold one got 50 coins,black went in but yellow disappeared! how can I avoid that? is there a way to sell first a white one and then put back a colored one?

With the oyster beds you can use new oysters. The way they have it set up is that whatever ouyster you want to place will prompt the least valuable oyseter to be sold. For example if you get a green one and it prompts you to sell a white one, do it. Green oysters are more valuable than white ones. Here’s a list that Ive compiled with whatever values I can attain.
OYSTER VALUES
White – 50 coins/XP
Green – 75 coins/XP
Black – 100 coins/xp
Blue – 150 coins/xp
Pink – 250 coins/xp
Yellow – Unknown (havent had one yet)
TIP: I usually harvest from my oyster bed first then replace any oysters…I get the max points and XP that way.
The oysters are worth recieving. If you harvest first then replace you essentially would be able to harvest from the replacement and get that much extra XP/coins in a day and the more valuable the oysters the more you get in a day. Now the only drawback is that at some point you are going to have nothing but the highest value oyster at some point and then cant replace any…but by then (and if the yellow ones are the highest) you should be happy with just being able to harvest. Based on the pattern it might be at least 350 coins each oyster for the highest soo…..times 20 in a day…itll help with levelling up and cash flow as if you filled up a fish tank in a week.

it wont let me place oysters, my oyster bed is empty everytime i click use on the oyster and then click on the bed it says these can only be placed on the bed? what am i doing wrong??

Instead of just clicking the oyster and then clicking anywhere on the bed, you must click on the first available empty hole, and the oyster will go in.

i have tryed to place a single oyster in every single spot of an empty oyster bed the oyster wont go in any of them keeps on saying can only be placed in an oyster bed ne help would b apreciated

I got a purple one today, usually when you place a new oyster it goes next to others of that color and the top leftmost oyster is the cheapest, white. However, when I placed this one, it went in the top left spot, meaning it is probably worth between a White (I don’t have any of them) and Black.
So far I have the colors posted above, aside this new one…
1. White
2. Purple
3. Black
4. Light Blue
5. Yellow
6. Pink
Tomorrow I will note the payout of all of these and edit this list.

I got a purple and placed it in my bed. I just received another purple and went to put it into my bed but it tried to sell my other purple oyster to put it in, but the purple is actually worth more than the black. Is there any way to sell a black instead of the purple?

with the addition of orange and purple i have the same issue as RaineR. the only way to have multiple purple/orange is to have free space in yout bed OR crappy oysters. A workaround im going to try is wait to collect enough WHITE oysters to replace ALL my blacks (and the 1 purple at the top of the bed) since they are so simple to get. then collect and ONLY add the new colors (NO BLACKS/GREENS) since it should place the purple at the end of all the whites. as far as i can tell you can have purple after black/green but only when there is free space already in the bed.

The thing is, the placement is fine as these new colors are really cheap….below 100… I think 25/75… So they are being placed in the appropriate place. Zynga does some really odd things, as here. Why create a new oyster that is worth nothing and NOT make any attempts to change the balance of those mystery oysters we find. I have 75% black, the rest are of a higher value. However I have not seen any oysters to upgrade my bed in at least a year.
