When a Lost Animal wanders onto your farm, you are given the option to Help the animal or to Ignore it.
“Help” puts a post on your Facebook wall, announcing the lost animal. Your friends and neighbors can click on the link to adopt it.
For you to adopt a lost animal, your friends and neighbors have to find a lost sheep (whatever), agree to Help it, post it on their wall, and then you have to click the Adopt link.
It is a matter of luck whether you get that animal or not.

Cow, changed to Brown Cow
Brown Cow gives you chocolate milk for 12 coins profit by harvested on 1 day
Black Sheep
Black Sheep is the second lost animal on FarmVille game, it gives you wool for 56 coins profit in 3 days. You can see a black sheep in Hot Air Balloon too 
Ugly Duckling that can transform into swan
Ugly duckling can be harvest in 3 days to change to a beautiful swan
then swan will produce swan feather. Harvest swan feather in 2 days and sell it for 80 coin 
Pink Cow
Pink cow can be harvest in 1 day, she will produce a strawberry milk for 18 coins.
Turtle
Turtle can be harvest in 3 days, you will get eggs for 86 coins from turtle
Black Kitten
Black Kitten can be harvest in 3 days, you will get yarn for 86 coins from black cat
Clumsy Reindeer
Wild Turkey

I am now up to Level 23 and I have NEVER seen a lost animal show up on my wall yet my friends and neighbours all have heaps. It is not a question of not adopting, the notice just does not show up. Does anybody have any ideas as to why this is?

I have over 10 pink and brown cows and 15 swans and 10 turtles and 11 cats and 15 blk sheeps and in 1 day, i got 7 turkeys! how come i never find a lost animal on my farm but my friends get tons of em???/

hey everyone! ive adopted the brown cow, pink cow, turtle, black kitten, ugly duckling, black sheep, and the reindeer(the clumsy one) as you can see, thats all of them. i have alot of friends on facebook and for farmville, pets are constantly roaming on to their farms. so i asked them how they make that happen. they told me to go to farmville on your facebook page, and just sit for ten minutes without clicking anything on the page, and minimize it(the page)(make it smaller), and after ten minutes open up the page again and it will say that a lost animal has roamed onto your farm and that you can either help it or ignore it. TODAY I HAVE HELPED 3 ANIMALS SO FAR;) your welcome for the info ;]

I also do not get the posts when animals are posted for adoption. Anyone have an idea why some of us never get these. I am level 34 and a long time back I received them, but no more.
